A Killing of Angels is the 2nd in Kate Rhodes Alice Quinten series and it is a fantastic follow up to Crossbones Yard.
In this book we see psychologist Alice team up with DI Burns in a series of murders rooted in the banking crisis. We delve further into her damaged relationship with her mother and her desperate need to protect her brother Will from his vulnerability rooted in his mental ill health while protecting herself at the same time. We also are given greater insight into the life of DI Burns and his struggle for leadership in a team which are determined to bring him down.
The murders are all connected to the Angel Bank but the struggle is finding what links the victims other than that connection..links that Alice finds herself tangled up in as she delves deeper.
I found the characters realistic and the plot gripping…money most certainly doesn’t always bring you peace and happiness.
Would recommend this book and the series to anyone
