A race against time for Laurie as she is desperate to find her daughter after a fire at the hotel she is staying at with her best friend [Emily ) goes on fire leaving Emily dead, Laurie is convinced that she was the intended victim and needs to trace her daughter before the killer gets to her.
Fast paced and tense the chapters alternate between then and now giving us a full picture of the torment, betrayal and terror that has culminated in Lauries current predicament. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it within 24 hours – completely gripped with the relationship between Laurie and her ex husband Sid – abusive, intense and passion from 2 very damaged individuals it made you think what would you have done in a similar situation. Lots of twists and turns – never quite working out the ending, kept me gripped throughout. Thanks to Netgalley and Bookoture for the ARC.
