The story of a serial killer told from his perspective was intriguing and Normal is told completely from the voice of the killer from the beginning.
Lots of hype for the book and to an extent it didn’t disappoint me, well written and easy to read. Lots of psychological thrills and gory moments and some fantastic examples of black humour.
However I felt some bits were missing for me – the killers background was touched upon but never fully explored; the “anti-killer” moments helping old people across the road and girl guide cookies left me feeling a little put off.
For me this book would have got 4 stars if I had more information about his background and where he got the money for his specially adapted house.
Despite this I would still give a solid 3 stars
