Lost Girls – Angie Marsons

Angie Marsons just keeps getting better and better. Lost Girls is the 3rd in the Kim Stone series and this one is explosive and emotional. The kidnapping of two young girls has chillingly similarities to another case over a year ago & Kim and her team are brought in to investigate. There is also a connection between Kim and one of the parents, Karen, from their time in care as children. A media blackout is imposed in order to protect the girls and prevent hindering the investigation – but this doesn’t stop reporter Tracy from trying to uncover what’s going on. The kidnappers are cruel and ruthless and each determined to get their own kind of reward from the plan.
This book will have you run every gauntlet of emotion from terror and fear to heartbreak as you live the situation with each character in the book.
Kim Stone is a determined woman with many unlikable traits – but you cannot help being drawn to her and her underlying compassion and vulnerability. Her background is still very raw in her mind and this is continually developed throughout the series and we see how this impacts not only on her work but also on relationships with others.
I can’t recommend this book highly enough and would have given it more than 5 stars if possible.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookature for the ARC
