Crow Bait – Douglas Skelton

The sequel to Blood City sees Davie McCall released from the Bar-L (HMP Barlinnie) and what a sequel it is – I couldn’t put it down!
Douglas Skelton has the knack of drawing you not only right into the storyline but also straight onto the streets of Glasgow. The plot is fast paced as Davie is determined to discover who was behind incidents in prison that led to his sentence being increased to ten years. A few old ghosts come to visit and the reader is quickly caught up in gritty Glasgwegian crime. Despite being a hardened criminal there is a vulnerability about Davie and you find yourself firmly on his side throughout the book.
My heart was racing throughout and I struggled to put this book down – a well deserved five stars and I recommend this to fans of crime/thrillers and especially those with a love of my hometown of Glasgow
