Perfect People – Peter James

A dark and compelling book which had me racing through it as I couldn’t bear to put it down! Driven by a desire to give birth to a child free from a life limiting condition John and Naomi opt to give birth to a “designer baby” but towards the end of her pregnancy they start to realise that things haven’t gone quite to plan.

I don’t want to say too much about the storyline but this book gripped me from the start – raising questions about genetic engineering and the advances that are probably already out there, the religious factions that can’t accept scientific progress and just how far people are prepared to go to create perfection – and once they get it – is it really all they dreamed of? be careful what you wish for!
