The Night Stalker – Robert Bryndza

The second in the Erika Foster series and it is even better than the first one (Girl in the Ice). A strong 4 and half stars from me!
The Night Stalker is fast paced, gritty and takes the reader on the hunt for a serial killer who appears to have a personal agenda!
DCI Erika Foster seems to be a cold hearted detective completely focused on her role, she leads a solitary life outwith work but this books sees her relationships with her team and forensic pathologist, Isaac Strong develop and we begin to scrape under the skin of what makes her tick. Her determination and the trust of her team sees Erika absolutely focused on bringing the Night Stalker’s reign to an end but at what cost?
You could easily read this book in one sitting as once you start you are hooked and drawn right in, my heart was in my mouth a few times but the book also makes you think as it delves into the dynamics of relationships and what can drive people together and what makes them do what they do!
I would have no qualms in recommending this book to others, while reading the first gives you a bit more background to characters it would be possible to read on its own, but when you pick it up be prepared for a roller coaster ride!
Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for the ARC in return for an honest review
