#BookReview #TheSister – Louise Jensen

Thanks to Bookoture and NetGalley for an ARC in return for an honest review.
Think Fatal Attraction and Single White Female with a little (well a lot) something else added to the mix and you will have an idea of how gut clenching this book is!  The novel is the story of Grace Matthews and Charlie Fisher, childhood friends until Charlie’s death. The book switches from then and now in a game of psychological tennis that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for the next shot!
I loved Charlie, she had a difficult upbringing but was a loyal friend, Grace was very much the outsider, only accepted due to Charlie’s allegiance to her. Grace too has some issues that keep her awake but Charlie is a much more bubbly and lively character that the reader is drawn to.
The plot centres on the events in Grace’s life and her relationship with Charlie and her childhood sweetheart, Dan. There are moments of drama and events that have you gasping in fear, it is dark and chilling as opposed to fast paced and exhilarating.  I would highly recommend this book to fans of a slower burning psychological thriller – the kind that has you peeking out of your curtains at night before you go to bed, just in case…
