Welcome to #TimeForCrime a new series here at Chapterinmylife.

I am inviting bloggers and authors talk about their favourite subject crime, with a set of quick-fire Q&As taking you to the dark heart of the person behind the book or the blog!

This week I am delighted to welcome Melisa from BroadBeansBooks

Melisa Broadbent

About you:

I am a lifelong book reader who regularly used to max out my library card every weekend when I was old enough to go to the library. I love most type of books, thrillers, action, mystery and love a bit of chic lit! I am never without a book and carry one (or two…..)  along with my Kindle in my bag.

So let’s delve into Melisa’s dark mind!

Why crime fiction?

Ever since I was introduced to the world of Nancy Drew and the Three Investigators I’ve loved crime fiction. As I got older I graduated to Agatha Christie (I think I was 12!) and read The Body in the Library. I loved the intricate plot twists and the element of surprise. I love finishing a book that has twists that I don’t see coming.

Favourite book you have reviewed

I loved I am Pilgrim. I think it had everything, great characters with different stories that all linked together. I also really enjoyed The Primrose Path by Rebecca Griffiths.

You are stranded on a desert island, you can take one book, what will it be.

Probably I am Pilgrim again, it’s a big book so it would hopefully keep me and Wilson (my volleyball friend) occupied whilst I waited to be rescued.

Do you have a kill list and who is on it?

Haha, don’t most people?! I won’t disclose it as I like to keep the element surprise…

Top criminal (real or fiction)

Hannibal Lecter. He’s scary but worst of all he’s sinister and incredibly clever.

Top fictional detective.

Columbo. I love him and his odd ways and the fact that he fools everyone by his appearance alone.  I would have chosen Miss Marple but Columbo is actually in the police force!

Planner or pantser/organised or beautifully chaotic.

Definite planner. I couldn’t cope without a list and have a print out of the blog tours I am taking part in with me at all times!

Favourite method of murder

The best ones are the ones that don’t look like murder..!

Best place to dispose a body

In concrete and under a building or under water in piranha infested waters.

Where can we find you? (Oh your blog details, dafty, any personal haunts send them to me privately!)

Probably in jail after these answers appear on your blog. If by any chance I avoid arrest I will be blogging at: https://broadbeansbooks.wordpress.com/

Thank you so much Melisa! Loved your top criminal and detective answers, two of my favourites there! Get over and check out Melisa’s blog folks!
