Welcome to #TimeForCrime a new series here at Chapterinmylife.

I am inviting bloggers and authors talk about their favourite subject crime, with a set of quick-fire Q&As taking you to the dark heart of the person behind the book or the blog!

This week I am delighted to welcome Ayo, crime fiction critic, blogger and commentator.

Name: Ayo Onatade

About you: During the day I work with senior members of the UK Judiciary. I am also a freelance crime fiction critic and commentator. I review, write, interview and blog on all things crime fiction related.

Let’s delve into the darkness that is Ayo’s mind…

Why crime fiction? – Crime fiction has always intrigued me. It is fascinating and covers a wide spectrum of issues. I always believe that if you want a good grounding in social history then read a crime novel.

Favourite book you have reviewed – The Cutting Season by Attica Locke

You are stranded on a desert island, you can take one book, what will it be  – Raymond Chandler Collected Stories (Everyman’s Library) (2002)

Do you have a kill list and who is on it? – In my mind I do but the current people on the list include the current President of the US (Trump), the current Prime Minister of the UK (May), anybody who think that carrying knives and guns for fun is a good idea, inconsiderate people and anyone who would hurt my family. (blood and extended).

Top fictional detective – J D Robb’s Eve Dallas

Planner or pantser/organised or beautifully chaotic – Depends on what I am doing or trying to do.  I would say a mixture.

Favourite method of murder – Pushing someone of a cliff

Best place to dispose a body – Crematorium

Where can we find you? (Oh your blog details, dafty, any personal haunts send them to me privately!) You can find me either at Shotsmag Confidential, (blog)  Shotsmag.co.uk (website) or @Shotsblog (Twitter) and the British Library.

A massive thank you to you, Ayo for joining me today and I do have to say your kill list is pretty similar to mine! I suggest you all go and check out Ayo’s writing, she really is one of the top experts in this genre!
