It’s just over a week until #BookWeekScotland begins! This annual celebration of books in Scotland takes place from Monday 19th – Sunday 25th November and I have week-long extravaganza going on in my blog featuring some of Scotland’s best crime writers!
The theme of this year’s Book Week is Rebel, which is pretty appropriate for a bunch of crime writers don’t you think! Rebellion incites opposition and change, allows us to find our own individual voices and inspires future generations to challenge convention and expectation.
I asked participating authors to come up with their own thoughts on rebellion and boy have they come up with the goods, from funny, to poignant, to thought-provoking you are going to love the week-long series starting here next week!
So join me on Monday the 19th November and hear the rebellious tales from Gordon Brown, Lin Anderson, Douglas Skelton, Graham Smith, Caro Ramsay, Alan Jones, Craig Robertson, Pat Young, Alison Baillie, Jackie Baldwin, Ian Skewis, Mark Leggatt, Theresa Talbot, Allan Watson, Emma Clapperton, Madeleine Black, Pat Young and Owen Mullen.
During Book Week, people of all ages and walks of life will come together in libraries, schools, community venues and workplaces to share and enjoy books and reading. They will be joined in this celebration by Scotland’s authors, poets, playwrights, storytellers and illustrators to bring a packed programme of events and projects to life.
There are a whole host of events happening around the country and I’d love to hear what you are getting up to for #BookWeekScotland!
