Book Week Scotland is a week-long celebration of books and reading that takes place every November. This year Book Week Scotland runs from Monday 19 to Sunday 25 November. I am delighted as always to be supporting this initiative with the support of some of my favourite Scottish Crime Writers!

The theme for this year’s Book Week is #Rebel and I thought to myself, now surely a bunch of crime writers have some rebellious tales to tell me! So I asked them to confess all! So are you sitting comfortably? Then let us begin!
Kicking off my week-long extravaganze is top Scottish crime writer, Lin Anderson. Lin is best known as the creator of the forensic scientist Rhona MacLeod series of crime thriller novels, and for her part in founding the annual ‘Bloody Scotland’ crime writing festival, dedicated to promoting Scotland’s other great national export!
My first time in the USA, aged 18 I was faced with no entry to drinking establishments, so I doctored my date of birth on my vaccination certificate and became 21.
I failed the rebel test however when I was asked to Woodstock and refused!
Now entering my new rebel phase by buying a Harley. Daughters of Anarchy here I come!
This is one of the coolest acts of rebellion that I have heard! Lin’s love of Harley’s was inspired by her own writing and if you are a fan of the Rhona MacLeod series, you will understand how this comes about…for those who haven’t read the series, I will not spoil it for you, but you really MUST go and get these books read!
