#BlogBlitz #YouBelongToMe Mark Tilbury @MTilburyAuthor @BloodhoundBook

It is a delight to be involved in the blog tour for Mark Tilbury’s latest novel, “You Belong To Me”. One of my favourite writers, I know that I am always guaranteed a read that will poke and prod at my brain and leave me reeling! Thanks to the author and to Bloodhound Books for the ARC to review.

Before I share my thoughts, here’s what the official blurb says:

Can two wrongs ever make a right?
The police never found fifteen-year-old Ellie Hutton. She vanished ten years ago after walking home from school along a disused railway track. But Danny Sheppard knows exactly what happened to her. She is dead and buried in a field near Lassiter’s Brook.
Now Cassie Rafferty has gone missing. Same age. Similar circumstances. And Danny also knows what has happened to her.
Can Danny fight his demons and tell the truth this time?
Or will history repeat itself and leave another innocent girl dead?

My thoughts:

One incident leads to a reunion…one with the most reluctant participants. Three men receive a letter that will hurtle them back to a past that they have been trying to bury deep.

Mark Tilbury has this uncanny knack of drawing readers right into the heart of his characters lives. He creates truly authentic individuals within the pages, each with their own lives, likes, dislikes and ways. It is impossible not to get embroiled in their lives. Each character is not without their flaws but all have redeemable qualities. Apart from one, I am not saying who it is but when Mark Tilbury creates a “bad guy” he must mould them with a corkscrew!

You Belong To Me begins in the present time with the disappearance of a young girl. We meet Danny and his three friends, Rob, Josh and Keiran in their current lives before we are taken back nine years to uncover the truth behind the secrets they hide.

There is so much I want to say about this book but can’t for the fear of spoilers! I will, however, say, that once again Mark Tilbury evoked every emotion in me as a reader, I felt revulsion, anger, fear, empathy and a great wave of sadness as I turned the pages. Honestly, when I read Mark Tilbury’s books I get completely immersed in them, it’s like the world outside ceases to exist and I find it impossible to put the book down until I’m finished. You Belong To Me was no different. Intelligent plotting, intricately crafted this one will worm its way under your skin. Revenge, secrets and lies all work to poke and prod your brain.

About the author:

Mark lives in a small village in the lovely county of Cumbria, although his books are set in Oxfordshire where he was born and raised.

After serving in the Royal Navy and raising his two daughters after being widowed, Mark finally took the plunge and self-published two books on Amazon, The Revelation Room and The Eyes of the Accused.

He’s always had a keen interest in writing, and is extremely proud to have had six novels published by Bloodhound Books, including his most recent release, You Belong To Me.

When he’s not writing, Mark can be found trying and failing to master blues guitar, and taking walks around the beautiful county of Cumbria.
